Not giving up !!

The best lessons in life come from CHILDREN

How many of us have often sat there, and completely bitched and complained about how "bad" life is, and how much it sucks ?

Admit it, we've all done that at one point or another, especially when we are having a bad day. Its normal, bad days happen. Not every day is gonna go our way, its a part of life. Like that old saying goes....you can't have rainbows without the storm first.

I never really realized until today how selfish and immature that really is.

Now.... before anyone goes and comments some hateful things, let me explain myself first.....

How many of us, when we were sick, especially with a bad cold or something have said something along the lines of "OMG I feel like I'm dyin' ! I hate being sick !" and other remarks similar ? C'mon, don't deny it, hell, even I've said it, I think I said it even as recently as last week when I caught my daughter's cold and I felt like my head was in a vice grip and someone was turning at both ends to try to make my head pop.

With that said.... WHY do we do this ?

Tonight I watched a video on Youtube, of this little boy named Connor, who was battling cancer. His biggest wish was to meet one of his favorite wrestlers, Daniel Bryan. Not only did he meet him, he met the whole roster ! This little boy was so strong, so full of energy, and even though he knew he was dying and was told he didn't have much longer to live, he didn't let that stop him from smiling and seeing the good in everything. He even was invited to wrestlemania this year. He passed away a few days later, but he had such an impact on people, it even had The Million Dollar Princess (Stephanie McMahon) in tears when she spoke about him.

Want another example ?

Look up Talia Joy on youtube. (TaliaJoy18). {{R.I.P}} This little girl suffered from not one, but TWO kinds of terminal juvenile cancers, and even times when she was in pain and wanting to just give up and let go, she held on as long as she could, and rarely complained. She was always so upbeat and cheery, always looking for the good in everyone and everything. She was only 14 but I had (and still do have) so much respect for this little girl. She reminded me of my little sister, and let me tell you.... when Talia passed away last year, I cried like a dang baby, same way as if I knew her personally, because you know what, that's how she made her subscribers on her youtube channel feel each and every video.

My point is....
If we are given another day to enjoy the weather (be it rain or shine...nature's beauty can't grow without the rain, remember that), another day to tell our friends and family that we love them, and spend quality time with them, given another day to breathe, then we should be thankful ! Too many people complain about trivial things like a little pain here or there, a cold or flu, a bad day at work, unruly kids that don't listen, bills, money (or lack thereof).

I'm not perfect, I'm no saint, like I said earlier, I'm guilty of all that. But if someone like me, who suffers from depression and is very moody and quick to be in a bad mood and find every little thing wrong, can realize that things need to change, then everyone else can too ! A long time ago, I used to have a group on yahoo (I forget the name now, cause we used to change it all the time lol), and we used to have this thing where every day, that I believe my friend Trudy got us started on, where we would post a minimum of 7 things that we were thankful for for that day. Think it sounds easy ? Believe me, some days its not. Even something that seems as trivial as "the sun was shining all day" is still a thankful. Sometimes when we are having a bad day, coming up with 7 are harder than you may think. I think if everyone were to do this in their daily life, then maybe we would see how much we all have to be thankful for.

If children who are dying of terminal diseases can find the brighter things about life and don't complain, and put on a brave face, then why can't we ?

From today forth, I vow to TRY to always see the positive in every situation and be thankful for all the little things in life. You should too.

here's the video of the little boy named Connor I spoke of earlier. I don't care if you are a fan of wrestling or not, think its fake or real, you NEED to watch this video and if you don't get tears in your eyes, and your heart doesn't melt, then I'm sorry, you have no soul.
